EDUCATION TO FREEDOM
Education to Freedom is the attempt by several concerned citizens of Gallatin County in Montana to provide a layman's understanding of our Founding Documents and the historical context in which they were written. To that end, our goal will be to sponsor occasional educational events, recommend books or articles, and seek to maintain a calendar of local events which may be of interest and help to achieve this goal.
George Washington once said,
"The primary object should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a Republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing . . . than . . . communicating it (that knowledge) to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?"
Therefore, our goal is to facilitate the self-education process we all must pursue to become proper citizens of our great country and teachers of the next generation. Hopefully adults, particularly parents, will take the time to personally learn and then assist their young people in understanding the principles the Founders laid down for our country.
The Blog "Revolutionary Ramblings" will hopefully turn into another convenient source of local information for interested learners.
